★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The market is small, I have seen it described as the biggest in Europe, which is rubbish, absolute sham. There are bigger ones in for example in Grenoble, France on a Thursday, if you go on Sunday, then we're talking.:)Ljubljana, Slovenia has a bigger one on any given day. Denmark is one big organic market...So In Vienna, there are 5-10 stalls, some of those function more as a cafe, than a market - market snacks yes, but not really for your weekly groceries. It gets a bit bigger for Christmas and Easter. The photos people are posting are in fact from those, not the weekly food market. The atmosphere in the little square is nice, food is OK as well, overpriced definitely with the exception of the flour lady-but she isn't there every week. In my opinion, the Easter + Christmas markets are worth the time, the weekly one, well, if you're in the vicinity already....
