★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to stay when you appreciate the traditional Austrian hospitality and kitchen. We stayed there with a party of four in a spacious appartment room. The hotel overlooks the valley to the little village of Au. Hosts Josef and Karin Moosman will help you out with anything and will serve you with good food in abondance. Be sure to take a drink from the schnapps carroussel after dinner. Do not forget to bring your snowchains in winter, even while the 800m uphill from Schnepfau is cleared of snow every day.
It's a real "Geheimtipp".

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ While looking online for a place to have dinner with my family, we happened to find Berghaus Kanisfluh.
In contrast to most other restaurants in the Bregenzerwald-region, Berghaus Kanisfluh had a proper website and also the menu available online. The dishes, prices and location looked very good so we drove over.
The first thing that immediately grabs your attention upon arriving is the stunning view the outdoor terrace provides. The whole Kanisfluh mountainrange is prominently visible and provides a breathtaking vista. The establishment itself is also very atmospheric, the staff friendly and helpful, the dishes we enjoyed were delicious and also very reasonably priced.
All in all this was a hidden gem we discovered and we went back another three times during our stay to enjoy great food at a great setting. If we happen to find ourselves in the neighbourhood again we will definately pay Berghaus Kanisfluh another visit.

Food was quickly served by a nice friendly waiter. An extensive salad was served with the main dish. The Wiener schnitzel with fries tasted great.
Afterwards the waiter passes by with a so called 'Schnaps Carousel'. If you want to you're able to order a schnaps and the waiter can tell you something about it.
