★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Though I generally tend to favour small neighbourhood shops rather than large chains, which often underbid the locals, this is easier said than done in this case.
Their Grande Latte more than measures up to what I usually get from smaller chains or individual shops, and at a price of €2.30, costs about half of what I'd pay at The Mann, Strõck, et al., or even less than half compared to Starbucks — not counting the artisanal muffin for €4.
The same goes for the sandwiches and other quasi-deli offerings on the Backwerk shelves.
The employees are always curtious, usually even jovial — except for the young woman that was working there this morning — perhaps a bad hair day. I'll let it slide. For now.
