The museum sees itself as a meeting place where people meet. Not to discuss the "effects of the past" but the "preliminary stage of the future".
In the sense of the founder Otto Neurath's “remembering simplified quantity pictures is better than forgetting exact numbers”, the core competence of the museum is to present social and economic facts in a simple and understandable way.
They want to make a contribution to educating young people to mature personalities and to show them opportunities for participation. Since learning never stops, people of all ages can find a lot of knowledge and insights in educational offer. Every year there are over 4,000 events in Vienna and across Austria, in which more than 100,000 people are addressed.

Includes a very interesting coffee house exhibit ... lots of old coffee machines, information on coffee house culture, manufacturing, history etc. Museum was founded by graphic communications expert Otto Neurath in 1920s and they have a nice collection of the work from him and his team.
