Im Jahr 1913 erwirbt Hatschek für den Park einen Säulentempel inklusive eines mittig stehenden Sockels. Wie andere historische Vorbilder bleibt dieser nach seiner Aufstellung zunächst leer. 1940 beauftragt Adolf Hitler den Mecklenburger Bildhauer Wilhelm Wandschneider mit einem Abguss einer Aphrodite-Statue. Auf Wunsch und als Geschenk des „Führers“ wird diese 1942 im Säulentempel am Bauernberg aufgestellt.
2008 macht der Künstler Alexander Jöchl mit der Installation formlos auf den historischen Kontext der Statue aufmerksam. Die Stadt Linz reagiert mit deren sofortigem Abtransport, das einstige „Führergeschenk“ soll eine klare Ablehnung erfahren. Die Vorgangsweise führt zu einer öffentlichen Diskussion über den Umgang mit dem NS-Erbe, für das die Aphrodite zum Symbol wird.
In 1910 Ludwig Hatschek and his wife Rosa bequeathed the farm mountain park they created to the city of Linz. In 1913 Hatschek acquired a column temple including a central base for the park. Like other historical models, it initially remains empty after it has been set up. In 1940 Adolf Hitler commissioned the Mecklenburg sculptor Wilhelm Wandschneider to cast an Aphrodite statue. At the request and as a gift from the "Führer", this was erected in 1942 in the column temple on the Bauernberg.
In 2008 the artist Alexander Jöchl informally drew attention to the historical context of the statue with the installation. The city of Linz reacts with their immediate removal, the former “driver's gift” is to be clearly rejected. The procedure leads to a public discussion about how to deal with the Nazi legacy, for which Aphrodite becomes a symbol.
