★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hotel was clean and breakfast good, but overall overpriced considering the "old" looks the rooms have. Our room smelled like cigarette smoke when we arrived but when we told them at the reception they couldn't care less. The owner lady was very unfriendly and unpleasant throughout our stay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed here for a 3-days hiking trip. We came there for 1 night and 2 night after we returned from the hiking trip. We were greeted very kindly and the hotel (newly refurbished restaurant) looks very classic and nice. The hostess speaks English really well, which was very convenient since our German/Austrian non-existent.
We booked a stay with breakfast and diner. The breakfast was really complete with lots of food to choose from (a range from bread to dairy products). The diner was also good. The rooms were nice a really spacious. Firm beds and above all it was clean. The bathrooms were a bit outdated but that was not something that bothered us. It was clean and it worked.
Above all else, the complete and friendly service really made the trip worthwhile. After we completed the hiking trip, we received a warm welcome with an easy check-in and information about when we could expect diner. You can notice they are working with passion.
I would highly recommend this hotel and if we return to Hochkonig, I think we'll come back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed for two nights at the start and end of our trek. Very friendly staff went out of their way to help us arrange some last minute things. Good kitchen and varied breakfast buffet. Would certainly recommend them.
