★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Das Essen ist gut, der Platz ist schön, das ist das Positive. Das Ambiente paßt nicht. Plastiksessel, billige Gartentische. Der Wirt ist so unfreundlich, dass man vor den Kopf gestoßen ist. Man überlegt, ob er überhaupt Gäste bewirten will und ob man nicht besser einfach gehen sollte.
The food is good, the space is nice, that's the positive. The ambience doesn't fit. Plastic armchairs, cheap garden tables. The landlord is so unfriendly that you were offended. You wonder whether he wants to entertain guests at all and whether it shouldn't be better just leave.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ein Gasthaus, wo auch Vegetarier auf ihre Kosten kommen. Zuletzt das vegetarische Menü gegessen - ganz großartig. Und die Suppen sind ein Gedicht! Kommen fast bei jedem Besuch in Deutschlandsberg oder Stainz hierher. Schöne Ausflugsziele wie etwa die Wolfgangikirche oder die Laßnitzklause sind auch nicht weit weg.
An inn where vegetarians also get their money's worth. Ate the vegetarian menu last - really great. And the soups are a poem! Come here almost every time we visit Deutschlandsberg or Stainz. Beautiful destinations such as the Wolfgangikirche or the Laßnitzklause are not far away either.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Forget about eating here. I'm not exactly the most picky person, but the Wiener Schnitzel (which is as basic as Austrian food can be), was the worst I ever had in Styria. ...and THAT, should tell you something.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped for lunch one Saturday in October while out walking the dog. The food was mediocre and the owner grumpy at best, borderline unfriendly. His attitude seemed to suggest my presence was an inconvenience. I also observed him flatly ignore a request from another table to order food as he delivered their drinks, which seemed unbelievably rude. It's clear the only reason this place can stay in business is the location it occupies, just below the popular Wolfgangikirche with no alternatives within a kilometer or so. The only ray of light in the place was the friendly and helpful waitress who served me. For the €20 the experience cost me, I could have eaten well in one of the many fabulous and friendly vineyards in the area. Don't waste your time here.
