★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Der unfreundliche Chef behauptete, keinen Schlafplatz mehr zu haben. Gestern hieß es noch am Telefon "Keine Reservierung notwendig".
Da es schon spät war, mussten wir weiter Richtung Kötschach absteigen. Hilfe bzw. Empfehlungen des Chefs Fehlanzeige.
 The unfriendly boss claimed that he no longer had a place to sleep. Yesterday it was said on the phone "No reservation necessary".
Since it was already late, we had to continue to descend towards Kötschach. No help or recommendations from the boss.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food is ok, but basic. Portions on the small side for the region. Expensive, for example 3 euro for a soft drink! What's even worse, prices on the ticket do not correspond to prices on the menu. Not recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For mountain lovers and hikers Valentinalm is located in absolutely fabulous place. Rarely you can have such a fantastic view from a hut which can be reached by car. It is excellent place for accommodation if you want to start hiking tours in the vicinity (peaks in Carniac Alps) and you need at least 4-5 hours by from your home. The food prices are comparable to the ones in restaurants in Austria. The accommodation for hikers/mountaineers (possibility to pay for accommodation only, without taking half-board or board) is very convenient.
