The best bookstore in Linz. Very well sorted! While elsewhere the focus seems to be on country thrillers and the like, you can also get literary classics here. Extremely friendly and competent service. ALEX is an institution!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wirklich eine ganz tolle Buchhandlung mit großer Auswahl, man kann wunderbar stöbern. Der Herr, von dem ich beraten wurde, war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Ich bin zwar nicht oft in Linz, aber wenn, dann steht diese Buchhandlung auf jeden Fall auf dem Programm.
Really a really great bookstore with a large selection, you can browse wonderfully. The gentleman who advised me was very accommodating and friendly. I'm not often in Linz, but when I am, this bookshop is definitely on the program.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Holds and offers variety of books, however the prices seem a little bit higher than other stores throughout Austria. A very well designed shop, though, and it is in the very heart of Linz. Suitable to give a break to city trip, and enjoy the moment.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good selections for German books! There are many art books (museum, gallery, photography, design, architecture) and life style books (cooking and gardening for example). I like that they have some English books (art related) and I even found a book with Chinese language. The price was a bit high but good quality books if you want a home collection for future.
