Now that the Gemeldegalerie has been moved to the Academy of fine arts, this place does not deserve to own Bosch’s masterpiece altarpiece, The Last Judgement. As one of the art pieces people travel to Vienna for, to display it closed is an atrocity and extremely disappointing. I would have been incredulous if I had paid to enter to see it closed. I do t know how a curator who appreciates art history at all could do this.

Bosch and other works moved to the Theatre Museum until renovations are complete - The Picture Gallery (Gemälde galerie) of the Academy of Fine Arts is one of the important collections of Old Masters in Vienna. Unfortunately the gallery is presently closed for restorations. At this time the collection highlights, including the important Last Judgment triptych by Hironymus Bosch as well as works by the likes of Peter Paul Rubens and Anthony Van Dyke have been temporarily moved to the Austrian Theater Museum at Lobkowitzplatz where they can be viewed until the reopening of the Academy of Fine Arts picture gallery. Austrian Theatre Museum opening hours are 10am to 6pm daily (closed on Tuesday). Entrance to view the Academy of Fine Arts masterpieces is €12 per adult.

If only you hadn’t rejected a certain german with a silly mistache, he was enraged after he got rejected, and punished you severely

Hilarious how 95% of the reviews are just about that guy... what's his name, you know, got rejected and instead of painting houses ended up craving world domination. But I do feel bad about the Academy and that they have to put up with this constantly.

One of the best art school in the world. for those here who write about the history, there's no "if" in the history, if that crazy guy really serious about art, he could also try another art school, in other cities or countries. That's not an argument. so please don't be so stupid and mess around here with bad jokes about the history. This academy with its 300 years history deserves the highest respect.

Very good art school! Not only you could learn to paint beautiful paintings, you could also paint history, politics, borders and that meaning of the one symbol that was originally meant for peace! But that only happens to less than 1% of students.

This opinion is neutral. I'm here to say something about these people talking things like "why did you reject him" bro if they wouldn't you will probably never born because of butterfly effect. And yes, his art was good but not good enough + he had not enough portraits in his portfolio
