★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dem Erzengel Michael geweiht, war das Michaelstor das erste Tor, welches am linken Salzachufer 1620 am Beginn der dritten Stadtbefestigung unter Fürsterzbischof Paris Graf von Lodron erbaut wurde. Das Tor setzte sich aus dem bis heute erhalten gebliebenen Zeugwartstöckl und dem abgerissenen Torhaus, dem eigentlichen Michaelstor zusammen.
Dedicated to the Archangel Michael, the Michaelstor was the first gate that was built on the left bank of the Salzach in 1620 at the beginning of the third city fortifications under Prince Archbishop Paris Count von Lodron. The gate consisted of the Zeugwartstöckl, which has been preserved to this day, and the demolished gatehouse, the actual Michaelstor.
