★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A really pretty green place in middle of Salzburg Old Town in the grounds of the University of Salzburg. The Furtwänglerpark part of Universitatsplatz has some fine statues including the humorous Wild Man Fountain and Gherkin sculpture, as well as more serious statue of Friedrich Schiller. On the other side of the Furtwänglerpark is the green market that still takes place daily on it, with market stalls for fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, sausages, fish, flowers and souvenirs etc.
