The view is really great there, the stone is only embarrassing when you read the inscription.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Im Sommer 2002 war das Japanische Kaiserpaar hier anwesend. Die Stadt Wien hat ihnen an diesem Ort einen Gedenkstein zu diesem Anlass geschenkt. Die Inschrift lautet: "Am 14. Juli besuchten Ihre Majestäten der Kaiser Akihito und die Kaiserin Michiko von Japan den Lainzer Tiergarten und genossen, bei strahlend schönem Wetter, von diesem Platz aus, Wien."
In the summer of 2002, the Japanese imperial couple was present here. The city of Vienna has given them a memorial stone for this occasion. The inscription reads: "On July 14, Her Majesties the Emperor Akihito and the Empress Michiko of Japan visited the Lainzer Tiergarten and, when the weather was brilliant, enjoyed Vienna from this square."
