★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have visited Vienna often and even spent a few months on a project in the city and this is the only tobacconist I know that will not accept credit or bank cards when paying for certain products, such as as credits for pre-paid phone sims or public transportation tickets. Most tobacconists won't accept cards for values below €10, which I understand has to do with the deductions they must pay to the bank or credit institutes, but not accepting them at all, seems unique to this store.
Tip: two floors up, near the train platforms, there is a 2nd tobacconist who has no problem accepting most credit and bank cards for any and all purchases.
